As a result of the numerous barriers to abortion services and provincial/territorial differences in the delivery of services, this information is not readily available from one source. Canadians for Choice has compiled this province- and territory-speci¬fic information in order to educate and empower people to exercise their reproductive rights. Women and Sexual and Reproductive Health: An information kit for shelters CFC has produced an information kit for staff working in women’s shelters. The pamphlet includes information on the importance of accessible abortion services for women that are leaving abusive situations, some barriers and myths they may be faced with, as well as some information on abortion services. Information and referral line poster Focus on Abortion Services in Quebec CFC and the Fédération du Québec pour le planning des naissances collaborated on a research project that aims to provide an update on the structure and quality of abortion services offered across Quebec in hospitals, centres locaux des services communautaires1 (CLSCs), private clinics and women’s health centres. This research document presents a number of conclusions regarding the organization of pregnancy termination services across Quebec based on anonymous calls to all hospitals and CLSCs in Quebec as well as interviews with abortion providers. Diverse Realities: a barrier to choice Being pro-choice is more than fighting for a woman's right to be able to choose when she faces an unintended pregnancy. At Canadians for Choice we believe that being pro-choice means that people should be able to make the choices they want and need to be able to have a life where sexual and reproductive issues are an important, acknowledged and respected part of their health and well being.
